Cougs vs. Dawgs in a battle for supremacy

With Gonzaga on the ropes of the WCC, reeling from drug charges, the new power struggle in Washington state hoops is between old-time rivals. Tonight's matchup between WSU and UW has the makings of a classic. As The Nuss puts it,
I generally don't write college basketball game previews -- in fact, this is the first one I've done this year -- but tonight certainly calls for something special. The Cougars are going for the Pac-10 regular season title, while the Huskies are fighting for their NCAA Tournament lives.
He calls it for the Cougs, 77-75, arguing that "...WSU's maturity wins out in the end."

As a constant reminder to not bet on sports, I offer a contrarian prediction: UW takes it in a walk. They're at home, they're revenge-minded, and their big man is back. WSU is scrappy and smart, but they'll come out cold, bricking a wall too big to scale. Huskies 74, Cougars 62.

(Note: I have no pecuniary or fanatic obligations toward either squad. My prediction is that of an unbiased, objective, dispassionate, level-headed observer. Which is why I'll be right.)

Update: Or wrong, in just about the way The Nuss predicted. Did I mention that I never bet on sports?
