- Approvingly quoting a classic Bushism: "There's no bigger task than protecting the homeland of our country."
- Not recognizing the irony in quoting Emma Lazarus to preface talk of building a better fence.
- Calling for "A policy that public schools not promote or identify homosexuality as a healthy, morally acceptable, or alternative lifestyle," while a mere three bullet points later, calling for "Academic freedom and the free expression of all varying viewpoints on our campuses." Except, of course, the identification of homosexuality as healthy, morally acceptable, or an alternative lifestyle.
- Boldly defending the Pledge of Allegiance (in its modified form, of course).
- Trumpeting individual liberty while completely ignoring I-901.
