Slate deconstructs Pitchfork Media, the site that's trying its darndest to redefine music criticism. I don't hate 'em. A .4 rating for Weezer is worthy of admiration.

    I like the approach, but for the life of me, I can't see any pattern at all to their rating systems.

    1-10, in .1 increments. Ratings are subjective, so one reviewer's 4.5 is another's 6.2.

    Well, that throughly explains why I wasn't able to find a consistent rating system.
